Our Story

Susan Yarbro, Founder

City Lights

How can we encourage each other in unity, faith & service? What would it look like if we all fulfilled our Christian calling? We can accomplish so much more together. Our vision is women coming together in prayer, service & fellowship to make an impact in our city for God’s glory. We are a group of women from many different churches in our city committed to pray, serve, and help lead.

What We Do

1. Women’s City Prayer Breakfast

Annual event bringing women together in prayer, service, and fellowship to make an impact in our city.

2. City Lights Blog

Be inspired from writers in your community.

The City Lights Blog consists of faith stories from local writers and pastors.

3. City Prayer Gathering

Please join us to pray for our city and our country.

We meet to pray in one accord over the current and relevant needs of Birmingham and our country. We meet quarterly at different churches & ministries in our city. See our event calendar for meeting times.

4. City Stories

Be encouraged by hearing how faith has changed and enriched lives.

Hear evidence of faith stories from speakers in our city and from across the country. See our event calendar for meeting times and locations.

5. City Resource Calendar

Get informed and connected in service, faith, and fellowship opportunities with women in our city.

We organize a calendar to connect and inform women in service, faith strengthening, and fellowship opportunities in our city such as outreach, missions, and Christian women’s events. These events span multiple churches, ministries, and organizations. Check out this great link to Serve My City-https://servemycity.com. It will also connect you with hundreds of volunteer opportunities in Birmingham!
